Somalia

We had to write a narrative through the eyes of one of the crew, or robots or the pirates by

  • Describing the setting in detail.Think about words to describe the situation, what you see, smell, taste, hear. Try to use words that create the mood.
  • Now…..Write a first person narrative through the eyes of one of the crew or one of the robots. How you are feeling when the boat is invaded by pirates.

This is my story. I hope you like it! Enjoy!!!!

Somalia
I can taste the salty sea air and smell the salty water. I can hear the talk of the ship's crew and the waves slapping against the the ship, I see the shining blue water, foamy waves and two tiny boats in the distance. The air is warm and the wind is smooth. Perfect.

Wait! Let me examine those boats. They are coming straight  towards us! Oh no. What if they’re... Pirates? Oh no no no they’re coming closer! Yeah, they’re pirates all right. CLUNK! Huh? What is that? CLUNK, CLUNK, CLUNK! Oh no. I think they are coming aboard the ship! Oh noooooo. I look out and see them running everywhere with guns in their hands.

Suddenly there is pirates ambushing the control room. One comes up to me and asks me “Do you know who I am?” and then says “I’m the new captain!” he takes my hat a key. I am forced to watch him turn the key. Then I realise that is the key that releases our robots!
The robots emerge from their shipping containers, frightening the pirates into a run. One robot sticks out his foot and a pirate trips over it! The robots are all carrying pirates. One robot is rolling a pirate on the ground. Another frightens a pirate into the sea! Three robots come into the control room and pull away the pirates.

I am given back my hat and my key and as the robots get back into their shipping containers I tell my crew “Keep safe!”

  1. Hi Mikayla wow I love your story about Somaila. I like how you said about all of the information. I think this is the best blog post you have done for this term. But next time you should put your words a bit smaller. But keep up the great work Mikayla.
